Termination of the lease

Guidelines to follow in the event of using the guarantee during termination of your housing lease. 

1.  Notify SwissCaution of your new address by sending an e-mail to info@swisscaution.ch or by fax to 0848 841 850, indicating the file number that appears on your rental guarantee certificate.

2. Following the departure inventory of the premises, and if damage exceeding normal usage is established by the real estate agency and yourself, contact your Civil Responsiblity insurance in order to declare the accident; the insurance company will then estimate the amount of the damage they will cover.

3. By signing the original rental guarantee certificate, you agree to the amount of damages or unpaid rents established by the real estate agency or the lessor. In the case of material damages, we advise you to declare the accident to your Civil Responsibility insurance as indicated above in point 2.

4. Upon receipt of the original signed certificate, SwissCaution will pay your real estate agency or lessor the accepted amount of damages. You must then reimburse SwissCaution the amount of damages advanced along with an administrative cost of CHF 100.-.

5. For this reason and in your interest, do not forget to exercise your rights in terms of your Civil Responsibility insurance.
